It’s nice to meet you, I’m CJ
Video Transcript:
Hi, I’m CJ Lucke and I’m running for the Flagstaff City Council in 2026.
I’m sitting in beautiful Heritage Square because I love the character of Flagstaff and I want to make sure that the people that work in Flagstaff can afford to live here.
I hope you’ll help me by signing my petition to put me on the ballot for 2026.
Thank you.

Advocate. Public Servant. Leader.
My activism began as a political science student at ASU, when I realized that very few women were running for public office. After earning a master’s in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, I spent the next 25 years in local and regional government leadership positions out West.
An Arizona native, I am currently a member of the Flagstaff Planning & Zoning Commission, where I advocate for smart growth and have been working with state officials to address the short-term rental problem impacting all Arizona communities.
As a City Council candidate, affordable housing is my number one focus. The most valuable commodity in Flagstaff is developable land, and I am committed to increasing the housing stock so that the average working person can afford to live in Flagstaff. I am also passionate about infrastructure and jobs.
Previously, I was on the board of the Townsite Community Land Trust and remain committed to the preservation of our city’s precious historic buildings.
I live in the Lower Greenlaw neighborhood with my wife, who is a dispatcher for the NAU Police Department. I enjoy going to thrift stores, gardening and taking care of our dog, Korki, a rescue pet. My son, John, also enjoys the outdoors and is a union baker.
