CJ Lucke for Flagstaff City Council

“The most valuable things in Flagstaff are its people and the land. I’ll work to increase available housing so the average working person can afford to live here.”

Key Issues I Stand For:

It’s an honor to be running in the upcoming 2026 City Council election to serve our community. These elections are non-partisan, but here are some of the issues that are important to me. If they’re important to you, too, please sign the petition to get me on the ballot!

My Top Issue:
Affordable Housing

I support the development of small-footprint homes over second home and short-term rentals and advocate for sustainable building practices. It is not enough to just build housing units; they must be built within neighborhoods that support vibrant community life. We must create housing for the people who work here. Read more about other issues I care about here.

My Philosophy:
Smart Growth

Smart growth is an urban planning and transportation approach that focuses on sustainable development. It promotes strategies to manage growth in ways that support environmental sustainability, economic vitality, and community well-being. I believe we can create livable, walkable, and complete communities while minimizing sprawl and preserving our surrounding forests.

Why Me?
Standing Up For Flagstaff

There are many things, like short-term rentals, that are dictated by State legislation. I will be an advocate for Flagstaff with the elected officials who can change these regulations. Too often, the current Council accepts things without challenging them. Read more about my thoughts on short-term rentals here.
